Online Kindergarten Overview
Virtual Prep Academy of Oklahoma is a public online elementary school that offers a welcoming, personalized introduction to school. Because every child learns at a different pace, our program blends structure and flexibility to support students and their families.
Children participate in teacher-led virtual lessons and self-paced activities that encourage reading, math, and social-emotional growth. This balance engages students and gives parents peace of mind.
How Does Online Kindergarten Work?
Online kindergarten works differently from traditional classrooms in several ways, most notably that students learn at home. Each day, VPREP Oklahoma students follow a routine that mixes live lessons with independent practice and creative play. Certified Oklahoma teachers guide engaging lessons in core subjects, while parents or guardians serve as Learning Coaches to offer support and encouragement along the way.
Live SessionsStudents log on each day and engage with the material through scheduled live lessons and independent study.
Learning CoachesLearning Coaches (often a parent or guardian) provide structure and encouragement at home.
Regular Check-insRegular check-ins with teachers and Student Success Coordinators help your child stay on track
Safe Learning EnvironmentStudents and parents have 24/7 access to course content and other planning tools.

Oklahoma Online Kindergarten Curriculum
Our accredited curriculum aligns with the Oklahoma Academic Standards and is built to nurture early learners. With age-appropriate lessons, students explore literacy, math, science, social studies, and art. Students also engage in social-emotional learning that helps them develop teamwork and confident communication with their peers.
Our online kindergarten curriculum sets children up for success as they continue their education and move into online middle school and online high school in Oklahoma, providing parents the opportunity for virtual learning from K-12.

Kindergarten Requirements
Oklahoma’s kindergarten requirements differ from those of other states in that children must attend kindergarten, although the level of attendance can vary. Oklahoma students five years old before September 1 typically must attend at least one half-day of kindergarten (two and a half hours). Public schools must, however, provide a full six-hour day for each child who has reached this age.
